Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Do you have hand and wrist pain?

Weakness in the hands?

Are you dropping things?

You may have carpal tunnel syndrome.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is classically defined as an impingement of the median nerve. The symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome are pain and possibly weakness in the hand and wrist.

The median nerve, along with the radial nerve and the ulnar nerve originate the lower cervical spine (the neck) and run down the arm to the hand. Carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms are caused when the median nerve is pinched somewhere between the neck and the wrist.

Chiropractic treatment of carpal tunnel symptoms is always directed at finding the area of nerve impingement and relieving it. Often, specific chiropractic adjustments can relieve carpal tunnel pain.

Along with chiropractic treatment to take pressure off the pinched median nerve, there are carpal tunnel syndrome exercises that help reduce the pain and restore the function. Deep tissue work and electric muscle stimulation may also be used in conjunction with the chiropractic adjustments and therapeutic exercises.

I have been a chiropractor for decades. Treating carpal tunnel syndrome is nothing new to me and I have had great results through the years.
